PDXCorp's line-level employees from Levels 1-6 now have the opportunity to “learn the ropes” of the business from company veterans as part of an exciting new program, according to Human Resources VP Marjorie Peters.
The PDXMentor Program matches management to employees in a cross-departmental relationship designed to broaden professional perspective and increase job satisfaction.
The program is voluntary. For those wishing to participate in the program, Level 1-3 employees will be matched with Vice President through First Vice President level managers. Level 4-6 employees will be paired with Senior Vice President through Executive Vice President level managers.
“PDXMentor will allow candid discussions of the business throughout the company. This approach not only maintains the open-door corporate culture of which we’re extremely proud, but also improves communication and cooperation across all aspects of the company,” said Peters.
Matching mentors and employees from different departments not only deepens understanding of how the company works, but also guarantees fairness when promoting within a department.
“But the best part,” says Peters, “is that non-managerial employees will have access to managerial perspectives, helping them to deal with everyday issues as well as providing tools for advancement within the company.”
